Wind Generator Plans Reviewed
Sue and I have spent literally a small fortune over the years buying and reading books about DIY wind power for home use (since the 70s!) and we’ve made more mistakes than we could ever count in the process.
When we discovered these amazing guides (after sorting through a lot of “crud” written by teenagers for sale), it made our lives easier for explaining to others what we’ve learned over the decades. Now we just tell them to get these guides and they can learn what it took us far too much time and money to learn. We didn’t have to reinvent the wheel, someone had already done the work for us and I might add much better than we could have. These guides gave us a way to communicate what we’d learned the hard way, by trial and error.
There is so much else we are learning everyday in our quest for independent energy living but with all modern conveniences we’ve both grown accustom. Our goal for this site is to help others become independent providers of their own energy needs as much as possible without sacrificing modern comforts or returning to a 19th century life style. We welcome any and all questions.
Neither of us has an electrical engineering degree, we don’t use technical jargon or verbiage only engineers use. We are lay people who have climbed over the techno wall to the other side. We figured out we’d never understand much of the technology and it didn’t really matter if we ever did so long as we continued to generate free energy for our own use.
We are here to tell you that if you can learn to drive a car, or read, you are smart enough to build and provide your own energy. Most importantly, it won’t take you a ton of money to do it either!
Before you read our reviews and recommendations, here’s the criteria we were looking for in picking a winner:
- Step-by-step guidance for the novice in building a DYI wind generator.
- Easy to understand with limited technical jargon.
- The manual had to be detailed with nothing important left out!
- The winner will give you comprehensive advice and info for living off the grid in addition to maintaining your DIY wind power system.
- Excellent customer service is critical for average people attempting to make their own energy.
1. Earth 4 Energy $49.97– Susan and I know about the author/inventor of this system, Michael Harvey, from his early days living in an off-the-grid house in Australia. We were inspired by his story then and simply thrilled to learn he had put all his knowledge into an amazing step-by-step system for an unbelievable price. When Susan and I read through it, we both said almost simultaneously, “finally!” This is the program that we wanted 20 years ago but couldn’t find. Encompassing both wind and solar power plans, it is a very simple program to follow for those of us with little to no knowledge of the subject. Since it came out, we’ve passed it onto dozens of friends, family and “internet buddies” and it’s truly gold. If you buy only one guide or plan for your wind or solar project, buy this one. The materials cost guide is indispensable. (Thank you, Mr. Harvey!) Read more at their official website, where you can also buy the complete Earth 4 Earth system for the cheapest price online, download it instantly, and have a wind or solar system set up by this weekend for less than $200 bucks. Yes, it’s that amazing.
2. Homemade Energy $47 — Energy guru, Bill Ford, is the founder of this program, which is the main competition for the Earth 4 Energy system and was created with the “average Joe” in mind. His solar and wind power designs are absolutely valid and thorough, and his ideas a solid, and yes, we even learned a few things not found in Michael Harvey’s program. Still, I would not recommend this program on its own but as a supplement to Earth 4 Energy, unless you are not a novice and do not need a lot of details or diagrams, which Homemade Energy is lacking. That said, there are many very satisfied customers who would argue with us, and I understand. Every brain works differently and for some, this program will work better than others. You can check out the official website here.
3. Energy 4 Green $49 — This is another solid system for sale online and does have its devoted followers. It covers all the basics like the previous two for solar and wind designs at home, where to get cheap supplies, batteries, and placement. These are ideas, we think, that are perfectly presented here but better expanded on with more details in Earth 4 Energy. Nonetheless, it’s professionally made, covers what we think are the essentials, and isn’t a bunch of gobbledy-gook like some other things heavily advertised out there. You know what they say, cream always rises to the top, so maybe these three will edge out the junk someday.
Final thoughts: All these systems have been hugely discounted since competition started growing. This is good! The prices started out in the hundreds and now you can buy all three systems for less than one top program used to cost on its own. The prices are being driven down as these three top guys are competing which is good for us, isn’t it?
Lastly, I cannot vouch for any other slick-looking program out there but the three on this list. If you find any other you want me to consider for top picks, send me the links! Susan and I have sifted through enough junk to last us a good while though, so no marketers please!
